Editorial Policy

Editorial Policy

As a publication covering the semiconductor and data center industries, SEMI VISTA produces and publishes articles under the policies below. We describe the rules we actually operate under, so readers can judge how much to trust the figures and facts in each article.

Primary Sources First

We prioritize figures and dates that can be verified against primary sources: corporate official announcements (IR materials, press releases), government agency documents, and statutory disclosures such as SEC (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission) or EDINET (Japan's disclosure system) filings. Where content cannot be verified against a primary source, we label it "report-based" in the text and do not treat it as equivalent to primary-source-backed information.

Handling of Unconfirmed Reports

For reports on matters that can change — such as a factory resuming operations or production status — we do not publish the information as confirmed fact until it can be verified through a primary source, such as an official release from the company involved.

Example: During the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto earthquake, multiple news outlets reported factory reopening dates. We withheld publishing any reopening date until it was confirmed by the company's own official announcement.

Source Citation

Wherever a figure or fact is mentioned in the text, we mark it with an inline link to its source (publication name and date) directly on the relevant phrase. In addition, every article carries a full source list at the end. Rather than a separate source box or parenthetical citation, we link directly from the point in the text where the claim appears.

Correction Policy

If an error is found in an article, we promptly correct the text and clearly indicate the article's update date. To report an error, please use our contact page.

Use of Generative AI

This site uses generative AI as part of the article production process. We operate an editorial process in which content is published only after passing our primary-source verification rules (primary sources first, handling of unconfirmed reports, and source citation, as described above) — generative AI output is never published as-is. This policy may change in the future, and we will update this page if it does.
